Monica Solinas’ gaze turns to the Mediterranean scrub with Disseminazioni (Disseminations) II, Myrtus, which recreates in large metal forms the delicate flowers of the myrtle, almost a monument to the fragile beauty of our land. The artist recreates light sculptures whose surfaces play with the light that refracts in the forest. The pistils of the myrtle flowers are designed to gather light, capture it and diffuse it, creating shadows on the surface of the petals. The shapes are deliberately simple so as not to impact the complex biodiversity of the forest. The idea developed from a project born for the concept of ‘dissemination’, initially pictorial, of a garden.

Artist
Monica Solinas – after having tried her hand at different expressive media, graphics, installations and design, Monica Solinas turned to painting, establishing an intimate relationship with it, with strong emotional traits, an inner, almost religious journey. In fact, all her work seems to be pervaded by a strong mystical connotation, as if we were in front of the shoots of a breviary, a map of the soul, a sacred itinerary of which, however, we only know a brief section, unaware of its beginning and, most of all, of its end.
