Letting go

iron, wire mesh, stones and marbles

dimensions 283 X 213 X 240 cm

Sabrina Oppo has chosen a small, intimate and hidden clearing to host her personal labyrinth warped with metal wires, LASCIAR ANDARE, where she holds intimate and black emotions that the cathartic force of nature transforms into a light flight of freedom. The iron structure is populated by birds made of wire mesh, in a vertical flight that is “an invitation to free ourselves from the burdens that cling to us”. The materials, wire mesh, stones and marbles come together, evoking a link between nature, death and life, the subject of the artist’s personal research.

Artist

Sabrina Oppo graduated from the Sassari Academy of Fine Arts specialising in visual and performing arts. She loves nature and what belongs to it: she collects part of it, in a circuit that involves collecting what is donated by the earth. His latest works arise from the recomposition of destroyed pieces, restored to new life. The most profound aspect that emerges from her work is the link with the nature/death/life element, evocative of a shattered dream, a limit to be considered as another opportunity.
