On Sunday 9 August, the Organica Museum’s summer programme continues in Limbara Park with visual art, contemporary dance and electronic music.
On display in the museum’s exhibition galleries:
- “Your Dream in My Dream”by the Italian-French-Danish artist Coquelicot Mafille and
- “Seasides”, a photography exhibition by Donatello Tore.
In the heart of the Curadureddu Wood, a few kilometres from Tempio Pausania, the Organica Museum continues its 2026 programme with a new series of exhibitions dedicated to contemporary art and photography.
To mark the opening of the two new exhibitions, the museum, directed by Giannella Demuro, invites the public to a day of events combining art, nature and community: talks, performances and concerts will guide visitors through an immersive experience designed to explore the Limbara landscape through the artists’ eyes and in dialogue with the local area.
Sunday 9 August begins at 11.00 am with the opening of the exhibitions, which will run until 16 September: *Your Dream in My Dream*, a solo exhibition by the Italian-French-Danish artist Coquelicot Mafille, curated by Mariolina Cosseddu,and *Bordi di Mare*,a photography exhibition by Donatello Tore, curated by Giannella Demuro.
The exhibitions
The artist Coquelicot Mafille will be the focus of the Organica Museum’s new series of events for its contemporary art section, with the soloexhibition “Your Dream in My Dream”– an exhibition project that intertwines textile art, painting and the written word to reflect on the relationship between human beings, nature and living worlds. The exhibition brings together large textile banners, paintings and site-specific installations – works that create an immersive journey in which images, symbols and language become tools for awareness and imagination. Through vibrant colours, human figures, animals, plants and poetic texts, the artist invites the public to rethink their place within ecosystems and the relationships that bind all forms of life.
At the heart of Coquelicot Mafille’s work – writes curator Mariolina Cosseddu in the critical essay accompanying the exhibition – lies the project‘Set Sail to Somewhere Golden’, a series of cotton fabric banners, where the silhouettes of figures sewn onto the canvas depict scenes to be interpreted with ever-increasing alarm. Banners of a secular piety, they present themselves as the emblems of an open and inviting ceremony, standards of a liturgy for the initiated. In fact, they are cartographies of the world, conceived by the artist first as drawings on paper, then transferred onto multicoloured fabrics cut out and applied with needle and thread by someone who has made the practice of embroidery and sewing their own contemporary language. At the centre of the composition, human and animal figures, flowers and words from an ‘alphabet of the soul’ engage in dialogue, whilst the drama being staged unfolds: the splendour of form is, in fact, a stark denunciation of the world’s horrors. As the artist states, these works are an invocation brimming with vital energy that invites us to be mindful of the interconnectedness of all living beings; they spring from a desire to shake up and decolonise our thinking so that we may act swiftly in the face of the demise of our interwoven ecosystems. The works on display explore the fragility of the planet, the connections between species, our collective responsibilities and the possibility of imagining a fairer, more shared future. The aesthetic dimension – seductive and luminous – is accompanied by a strong ethical and political tension, transforming each work into an invitation to listen and participate.
Coquelicot Mafille , born in Paris (1975), is an Italian-French-Danish artist. She lives and works between Milan and Alghero. She has exhibited in Italy, France, Morocco, Turkey and Costa Rica and has taken part in various artist residencies, including Casa degli Artisti in Milan, Hotel Belmar in Monteverde, Costa Rica, 59Rivoli in Paris, Bocs in Cosenza and Menafueco in Grottaglie. She collaborates with public and private clients at local council and regional levels and runs artist-led workshops in schools and museums. Her artistic practice revolves around play, the realm of dreams, linguistic spaces, nature and the nature of human relationships. Through multicultural forms and colour palettes, she highlights the diversity and distinctiveness of living things, including man-made environments and landscapes. Her exploration of past, personal and contemporary pictorial and photographic images, from which she draws inspiration, is translated into embroidery, sewing and painting. Challenging the conventional boundaries of embroidery, from which she began, she develops her practice through sewing, writing and painting on canvas, fabric, paper, urban walls and stained-glass windows, using thread, paint and adhesive tape.
For its photography section, the Organica Museum presents“Bordi diMare” by photographer Donatello Tore, curated by Giannella Demuro. The exhibition explores the effects that certain human-induced phenomena have had along the edges of the natural boundary between water and land. At first glance, Tore’s photographs appear to be seascapes – a landscape stripped of colour, rendered through a palette of blacks, greys and highlights, imbued with a powerful dramatic tension. Through black and white, the photographer reimagines the landscape, stripping it of its immediate recognisability to transport it into a suspended dimension. Once past the initial visual impression, in fact, the subject of the exhibition is no longer merely the sea. The photographer observes its edges, details, interruptions and transformations, bringing into the centre of the viewer’s gaze what normally remains on the periphery: a jetty, an abandoned boat, a wall, a suspended net, the glimmer of lights in the night. In this vision, the absence of the human figure does not equate to the erasure of humankind. On the contrary, it makes their presence all the more perceptible. Each image preserves the memory of a gesture, a labour or a function; every structure bears witness to the attempt to inhabit, utilise or traverse a naturally unstable territory. *Bordi di mare* thus offers a reflection on the relationship between nature and the man-made, between permanence and transformation, between presence and abandonment. Through minimalist, rigorous and intensely evocative photography, Donatello Tore presents a landscape in which the sea is not merely a subject to be contemplated, but a force capable of preserving, altering and ultimately reabsorbing the traces left by humankind.
Donatello Tore His photographic work focuses on people, the local landscape and working environments, with a constant emphasis on architecture, the city and the social changes taking place in Sardinia. A professional since 1985, he trained in Milan, specialising in editorial, art and architectural photography. On his return to Sardinia, he collaborated with various publishers and produced the photographic content for numerous monographs and art history volumes, including those commissioned by the Banco di Sardegna and published by Ilisso. With the opening of the MAN in Nuoro, he began a long and fruitful collaboration with the museum, contributing to the production of several catalogues. Of great anthropological value are the works commissioned from him by the ISRE on the village of Lollove and its inhabitants, the project dedicated to the women of Orune and a photo-essay on the city of Nuoro. Tore has also produced audiovisual works on architecture and collaborated with Sardinian film directors, including Salvatore Mereu and Giovanni Columbu.
Dance
At 4.00 pm, there will be a performance of *Articolazioni del tempo presente*, a site-specific piece by the Senza Confini di Pelle company, choreographed and performed by Dario La Stella. The piece explores the relationship between body, time and space through a sequence of movements that creates a dialogue between the performer and the surrounding environment, the objects within it and the people present.
For the Organica Museum, the performance unfolds in relation to the space, creating a dialogue between the body’s inner time and nature’s external time, marked by the light and movement of the Sun. Biological dimensions, personal memory and experience thus intertwine with the transformations of the landscape, generating new forms of perception. Designed to adapt to its host venue, *Articolazioni del tempo presente* takes on different characteristics each time, transforming the encounter between body, artwork and environment into a unique and unrepeatable event.
Senza Confini Di Pelle is a research and experimental project in the performing arts, founded in Turin in 2003 by Dario La Stella and Valentina Solinas. The company explores contemporary themes through the body, interweaving dance, theatre, video and text in works that address social and political issues. Active at festivals, theatres, universities and cultural engagement projects in Italy and abroad, it has also presented its work in the United States and collaborated with numerous international artistic organisations. Among its most significant accolades, in 2013 the project “Add Up > Space and Power” was selected for the Metamorphoses Project, a European programme dedicated to contemporary choreographic research.
Electronic music
The evening continues at 8.45 pm at the Organica Museum with ‘ExpansE’ by LanD ExcapE, an electronic music project that explores socio-ecological themes. ExpansE arose from LanD ExcapE’s desire to create a collective that brings together and involves a wider range of artists working across various art forms. Among the themes explored so far are unsustainability, the state of environmental degradation, the irreversibility of man-made pollution and war. The multimedia performance conceived for the Organica Museum combines the electronic music of LanD ExcapE and Italowsky with the evocative images of Tore Addis, which, by depicting Sardinia’s natural and man-made landscape, serve as the backdrop for the live electronics. These are landscapes in the broadest sense; as they intertwine, they prompt the listener to reflect deeply on the beauty, uniqueness, fragility and wounds of the environment, which serves as a mirror of contemporary society.
LanD ExcapE is an electronic music project formed in 2019 by Gavino Ganau and Giovanni Dibeltulu. Their tracks have been selected through international calls for submissions and broadcast by numerous radio stations across Europe, North America and Australia, including Resonance FM and Resonance Extra (United Kingdom). In 2023, the track ‘Melma’ was selected for Vox Novus’s (USA) 60X60 Call for Works and performed at the Stoner West Dance Studio Theatre in Pennsylvania. Since 2024, the duo has been touring, presenting the project *Tu prova ad avere un mondo nel cuore* at festivals and events across Sardinia. In 2026, they released the mini-album *Ogni cosa è un segnale* on Bandcamp, marking the project’s recording debut.

All Organica events take place on the slopes of Mount Limbara, near Tempio Pausania: in the Curadureddu woods and at the CEDAP – Centre for Education and Documentation on the Environment and Landscape. The CEDAP premises feature two exhibition halls, one dedicated to contemporary art and the other to photography, and also serve as an information centre for hiking, environmental and cultural activities in the area. Guided tours of the Museum of Environmental Art can be arranged for small groups and schools, subject to booking. The site can be reached from Tempio, Olbia and Sassari via the SS 392 state road, and then on foot along one of the picturesque paths that wind through the woods of Limbara.
