The enhancement project entitled “Organica – Paths of Art” is enriched with two new works thanks to the contribution of FAI and Intesa Sanpaolo as part of the “I Luoghi del Cuore” programme.
The creation of two new permanent installations is currently underway, which will enrich the Paths of Art of the Organica Museum, in the Curadureddu forest at the foot of Mount Limbara. The enhancement project is supported by the ‘I Luoghi del Cuore‘ (Italian: “Places of the Heart“) programme , promoted by the FAI – Fondo per l’Ambiente Italiano ETS in cooperation with IntesaSanpaolo, with a contribution of EUR 10,000.
The presentation of the two new permanent installations to the public and the press will be held at the Organica Museum on Sunday 1 March at 11 a.m.
‘Organica – Sentieri dell’arte‘ is an initiative dedicated to the valorisation and promotion of the territory through cultural innovation interventions. The project focuses on the Curadureddu Wood, transformed into a place of artistic production and cultural fruition through contemporary languages fully integrated in the landscape.
Located on the slopes of the granite massif of Monte Limbara, just 7 km from the town of Tempio Pausania, the Bosco di Curadureddu is part of a naturalistic area of great value, amidst forests and streams where domestic pines and Mediterranean maquis, holm oaks, myrtles, periwinkles and rare wild orchids coexist.
In this context, alongside the numerous hiking trails, is the Organica Museum, dedicated to the relationship between contemporary art, the environment and the territory, now a reference point for visual art in Sardinia.
In 2022, with the support of volunteers from the FAI Olbia – Tempio Pausania Group, the association tramedarte set up a committee to collect votes for the Curadureddu Wood, on the occasion of the 11th Census ‘I Luoghi del Cuore’ (Places of the Heart).
The response from the people was extraordinary: the Curadureddu forest reached 3rd place in the regional ranking and 66th place in the national ranking, with 4,460 votes. A result that made it possible for the “Organica – I sentieri dell’arte” project to be nominated for the Call for Proposals that the FAI launches after each edition of the census, to support recovery and enhancement projects for those Places of the Heart that have reached the minimum threshold of 2,500 votes.
The two works under construction will be permanently installed along the ‘Paths of Art’: Labyrinth, by the artist Antonello Fresu and Dodecahedron, by Federica Luciani, a student from the Fine Arts Academy of Rome selected through a national contest by invitation addressed to students from the Fine Arts Academies of Milan, Rome and Sassari, with the aim of supporting the growth of young emerging artists and encouraging the activation of training and cultural networks.
Both projects arise from creative processes connected to the natural context and oriented towards sustainability: eco-compatible materials will be used, with the aim of placing works in the forest that are capable of dialoguing harmoniously with the environment and of encouraging a conscious and respectful use of the territory.
This choice confirms Organica’s vocation as an active cultural garrison, capable of combining environmental protection, artistic research, civic participation and collaboration with schools, communities and territorial networks.
The ‘Places of the Heart’ programme
Giving voice to the reports of Italy’s best-loved assets in order to ensure their future is the aim of the “I Luoghi del Cuore” (Italian: Places of the Heart) programme, launched by FAI in 2003 and promoted in cooperation with Intesa Sanpaolo, which aims to concretely involve the entire population and to contribute to raising awareness of the value of Italy’s cultural heritage and landscape. Through the census, the FAI urges the relevant local and national institutions to make their forces available to safeguard the places that are dear to the people; but the programme is also the means to support projects for the protection and enhancement of some of the properties voted for. After the census, in fact, FAI and Intesa Sanpaolo support a selection of projects promoted by the territories in favour of the places that have reached a minimum threshold of votes. “I Luoghi del Cuore”, from the first edition to the present day, has thus made it possible to support 180 projects in favour of places of art and nature throughout Italy, thanks to the active cooperation with institutions and communities. Moreover, the programme has often enabled virtuous local processes to be triggered, which have turned into real cultural, social, environmental and economic impacts, changing the destiny of dozens of Italian heritage assets.
