With the exhibition Euphoria, artist Monica Solinas recounts the intricate systems of grasses and plants, flowers and leaves, root entanglements and their resistance. She explores unknown territories made of woods, paths, ravines that are brought back to paper through shapes, uncertain contours, vibrant colours.
In his research, the artist encounters kaleidoscopic blooms, endless greens, shadows, fragrant carpets, ferns, myrtle, bold shapes. An immensely euphoric world that lives indifferent to our thoughts and conceals a lush and, at the same time, fragile richness.
Biography
After having ventured into different expressive media such as graphics, installations and design, Monica Solinas turned to painting, establishing an intimate relationship with it, with strong emotional traits, an inner, almost religious journey. All her work seems to be pervaded by a strong mystical connotation, as if we were in front of the shoots of a breviary, a map of the soul, a sacred itinerary of which, however, we only know a short stretch, unaware of its beginning and, above all, of its end. For the Museo Organica in 2021 he created the site-specific work ‘Disseminations II – Myrthus’, a site-specific work permanently installed in the Bosco di Curadureddu
