On Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 October, the Museo Organica and CEAS Tempio celebrate the 20th AMACI Contemporary Day and CEAS APERTI 2024 with many events dedicated to art, cinema, culture and the environment.
The programme includes the national premiere of director Tore Manca’s film ‘E.K. Erdkinder‘; tours and guided tours of two new exhibitions at the Museo Organica; cultural treks among the works in the Bosco di Curadureddu and gong baths; and workshops on the environment and sustainability for children.
On the occasion of the 20th Day of Contemporary Art and CEAS Open, the Museo Organica and CEAS Tempio are proposing a weekend of events dedicated to installation art, photography, video art and workshop activities in the beautiful autumn setting of Limbara.
Film

On the occasion of the AMACI Contemporary Day, Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 at 6 p.m., the film “E.K. – Erdkinder” by director and video artist Tore Manca with choreography by Daniela Tamponi will have its national premiere at Spazio CEDAP. The film is a story through images of the intimate relationship between childhood and the natural world, a song dedicated to nature and the desire to reconnect with it.
Gathering a few objects inside a rucksack and abandoning domestic noise and family muteness, a daughter reaches the forest in flight from the city, to regain a balance undermined by very strict school and family discipline. The forest, seen and experienced as school and family, represents the need to reconnect with one’s origins, roots that lead back to the spontaneity of actions such as walking, running, jumping and climbing, essential for human growth and self-knowledge.
The film will be presented by the director of the Museo Organica, Giannella Demuro (Saturday 12) and by the director of the Società Umanitaria di Alghero, Alessandra Sento (Sunday 13) in the presence of the director Tore Manca, the choreographer Daniela Tamponi and some of the young co-stars of the film. Admission with reservation (wa 347 2570908).
Workshops

The art and nature workshops at the CEAS Tempio during the INFEAS network’s ‘Open CEAS’ promotion days are dedicated to the youngest children. It starts on Saturday 12 October at 3 p.m. with two art workshops: ‘Il cartabosco‘, in which Antonella Spanu, at the same time on show at the Museo Organica with her new work, will accompany the children (aged 4-9) in a collective game on drawing and the construction of paper tree masks. Also at 3 p.m., older children (aged 7 and up) will be guided by Marta Pala of Spazioperaria in ‘Natural Screens‘, an itinerant drawing workshop in the Curadureddu forest, also suitable for families. On Sunday 13 October at 3 p.m., Marina Sotgiu will accompany children (3-9 years old) in the creation of small paintings and personalised bookmarks using the ‘Magic Painting‘ technique: cheerful black and white drawings will come to life and colour using just water and a brush. Info and booking (wa 347 2570908).
During the afternoon of Saturday 12, it will also be possible to visit the ‘Grano del Sinis’ stand, a project to raise awareness and disseminate the short supply chain of the island’s and Sinis’ ancient grains. At 5 p.m. Alberto Pesenti of the La Cerra agritourism farm will talk with agronomist Emanuele Gosamo.
Gong bath
On Saturday 12 at 3.30 p.m. and Sunday 13 at 4.30 p.m., sound operator and gong master Caterina Tamponi will propose ‘Sounds in the Trees’, a gong bath in the foliage of Curadureddu in a moment of relaxation and connection with the ground through the sound and vibrations of harmonic instruments. Info and reservations (wa 347 2570908).
Exhibitions

On Saturday 12 at 4.30 p.m., the director of the Museo Organica will give a guided tour of the new exhibitions at the Museo Organica, which can be visited until 6 November. In the exhibition ‘There are more things in Heaven and Earth‘, Antonella Spanu with a pencil in hand traverses territories unknown to the visible with a fixed objective: to do a lot with a little. Or rather to do as much as a single pencil allows, producing an unquantifiable system of images until the pencil itself is exhausted. Thus, barely sketched shapes and completed images come to life, creating a carpet like a tapestry in progress, a large picture book, a map of dreams and visions.
The exhibition ‘Costantino Brundu: percorsi di un naturalista’ (Costantino Brundu: paths of a naturalist) is dedicated to the Tempio scholar bound by a relationship of deep passion to his land. A great connoisseur of the territory, Brundu was a convinced environmentalist, multifaceted artist and free thinker. The places represented in the exhibition dedicated to him focus on Monte Limbara through images and extracts from the unpublished texts of a guidebook he wrote but never published.
On Sunday 13 at 3.30 p.m., starting from the Spazio CEDAP, the public will be able to participate in a cultural trek to get to know the site-specific works installed in the Bosco di Curadureddu of the Organica project (works by Pierluigi Calignano, Paolo Carta, Paola Dessy, Daniela Frongia, Giuseppe Loi, Gianni Nieddu, Sabrina Oppo, Bruno Petretto, Monica Solinas).
