Saturday 16 December at the Museo Organica in Tempio Pausania the conference La montagna abitata and a concert dedicated to the world’s most beautiful love songs. Ongoing exhibitions extended until 31 January.
The relationship between art, organic architecture, environment and territory will be discussed at the conference La montagna abitata (The inhabited mountain), organised by the Museum of Organic Environmental Art at the Spazio CEDAP, in the Curadureddu forest, on Saturday 16 December at 3pm.
This is an opportunity to recount an experience that in recent years has contributed to tracing new coordinates for the use of a place that is certainly familiar to the communities in the area and to the many visitors, but which now adds new elements, which it is hoped will contribute to the construction and enhancement of the complex mosaic of the ‘Limbara system’. This is thanks to the presence in the forest of a building restored according to the guidelines of contemporary architecture and an articulated cultural project such as the Museum of Organic Environmental Art, now in its fourth year of activity.
The conference will open with institutional greetings from Tempio Mayor Gianni Addis. Introducing topics and speakers will be Giannella Demuro, artistic director of the Museum. The architect and urban planner Lidia Decandia will focus on the role that the mountains and the presence of new artistic centralities scattered throughout the territory can play in the construction of new forms of urbanity, in which nature and culture once again enter into dialogue. Architect Mercedes Nardone will explore the theme of organic architecture, of which the CEDAP building designed by Tempio architect Antonello Menicucci represents a small but notable example. Designer Nicola Vasa ‘s speech will focus on the ‘noble adventure of creative research’, while engineer Paola Tetti, head of the Public Works Service of the Municipality of Tempio, will address the theme of the relationship between public commissioning and contemporary design creativity.
After the conference, at 5.30 pm, it will be the turn of Tutto l’amore del mondo, a concert for piano and voice by the duo formed by Gisella Vacca and Renato Muggiri. A journey through time to discover the world’s most beautiful love songs, in ten different languages: from Schumann’s German Lieder, through Kurdish and Greek folk music, the French chansonnier of the 1920s, South and Central American folk songs, all the way to Italian singer-songwriter music, enriched by totally original pieces. Protagonist is the versatile vocality of Gisella Vacca with arrangements entirely revised and performed by pianist Renato Muggiri.
The concert is a production of the association Il Crogiuolo with the organisation of Cagliari’s Teatro del Sale and the contribution of the Regional Department of Culture, Entertainment and Sport.
These two events conclude the Organica Museum’s 2023 calendar. The two current exhibitions – Container, the new installation project by artist Pietruccia Bassu curated by Valerio Dehò and the retrospective exhibition Antonello Menicucci e l’architettura organica curated by art critic Giannella Demuro and architect Simone Vacca D’Avino – have been extended until 31 January 2024. From 17 December to 8 January, these exhibitions can only be visited by appointment.
